Re-Opening Cases

To reopen your case, you must Petition the court to reopen which is a written letter (or use the form below) to Judge Wickert indicating your reasons as to why you believe your case should be re-opened. There is also a $30.00 (nonrefundable) reopening fee that is charged when petitioning the court to reopen a case.

Judge Wickert will review your Petition to Reopen and decide to either schedule you for a Pretrial Hearing with the village attorney or schedule you for a Reopening Hearing before him.

If Judge Wickert decides on a Pretrial Hearing, the court will mail out to you a Pretrial Notice indicting the date/time to meet with our village attorney. If you fail to appear, the original conviction will stand.

If Judge Wickert decides on a Reopening Hearing, the court will mail out to you a Notice for a Reopening Hearing indicating the date and time your court appearance is required. If you fail to appear, the original conviction will stand.
