Critical Local Services Funding
Like all other cities, villages, and towns in Wisconsin, Ashwaubenon's annual budget is funded by two primary sources: property taxes and state aid (in the form of shared revenue). Shrinking state aid, and laws restricting municipalities from generating revenues in other ways, means that municipal budgets all over the state are restricted!
The Village Board adopted Resolution R1-1-2023, urging the Wisconsin Legislature and Governor to fix the broken system of funding critical local services on January 24, 2023.
To learn more about the broken system and how you can help, visit the League of Wisconsin Municipalities website.

How can you help? Ask your state elected officials for more, sustainable, and growing funding for cities, villages, and towns so that we are not overly dependent on property taxes.
