CORP Plan
The Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) is used to guide the Village in making decisions related to improvements at existing parks, new facilities, land acquisition, recreation trail extensions and improvements, and ADA requirements. The Village of Ashwaubenon is currently in the process of updating its’ Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) in 2024. CORP Plans are updated by community feedback every 5 years.
Last adopted in 2020, many ideas for neighborhood park projects completed in the last 5-6 years came out of these meetings. After community ideas and discussion points were given, our Parks & Recreation Board continued the discussion an ranked potential projects, which have been considered in the last 5 budget cycles.
A few of the CORP projects include the Ashwaubomay River Trail & Bridge, the Sherwood Forest Trail addition, the Ashwaubenon Sports Complex Trail addition, the Main Avenue Trail addition and additional sunshades at Ashwaubomay Lake.
A series of park meetings/discussion have been scheduled to collect your feedback:
- Aubinger Park: Wednesday, July 10 | 6:00 p.m.
- Fort Howard Park: Tuesday, July 16 | 6:00 p.m.
- Canterbury Park: Wednesday, July 17 | 6:00 p.m.
- Ashwaubomay Park: Thursday, July 18 | 6:00 p.m.
- Smith Park: Tuesday, July 23 | 6:00 p.m.
- Waterford Park: Tuesday, July 30 | 6:00 p.m.
- Sand Acres: Tuesday, August 6 | 6:00 p.m.
Suggestions may be given for any neighborhood or park facility at any of the meetings. Just because a meeting is at a specific park, does not limit comments for just the park/neighborhood. In addition, we will also take suggestions at the September 17th Park Board meeting in the Village Hall Board Room. Meeting start time is between 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Can't make any of these dates? Ashwaubenon Residents, give us your feedback/suggestions via our online survey. The survey closes Wednesday, September 11.
