Crime Prevention
"CRIME PREVENTION", by formal definition, is the anticipation, recognition and the appraisal of crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it. In practical application, crime prevention is a pattern of attitudes and behaviors directed both at reducing the threat of crime and enhancing the sense of safety and security, to positively influence the quality of life in our society, and to help develop environments where crime cannot flourish.
The Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety is involved in the following crime prevention programs.
- McGruff
- Neighborhood Watch
- National Night Out
- Retail Theft Prevention
- Business Security Surveys
- Residential Security Surveys
Our Crime Prevention Officers hold monthly meetings with Loss Prevention personnel from area retailers in an effort to apprehend offenders and reduce the number of retail thefts.
For information on any crime prevention programs, or to request a business or residential security survey, please contact Captain of Investigations.
