Deer FAQ's

Q. Do I need a “special” license or tag to hunt?
A. Not a “special” license. However, hunters must use their own Wisconsin issued deer tags and license to hunt in their yards or someone else’s yard with permission. You can get a deer hunting license at most sporting goods stores, at the DNR office, or on the DNR website.

Q. Who would a hunter using a bow-arrow/crossbow need to notify in the Village?
A. A hunter must get permission to hunt in Ashwaubenon from any property owner that has a permanent structure which can be used for human occupancy within 50 yards of his/her hunting spot.

Q. Do I have to register a deer if I am successful?
A. You must register the deer, as you would any deer, as this is part of the WI deer season hunt. However, the Village of Ashwaubenon would also like you to call the Park & Recreation offices at 920.492.2331 or email parks@ashwaubenon.gov to let us know if you shot a deer within the Village boundaries. We are asking this to see how successful this program is or if the plan needs modification. When reporting, we would like to know when and what was shot and the location. This is voluntary, but would be appreciated.
