Request To Reopen
The defendant has the right to request to reopen their case within 6 months of conviction. A request to the court can be made in written letter, or by filling out the form provided below. Requests should indicate good reason as to why the case should be reopened. A $30.00 nonrefundable fee is required at the time of submission of the request.
Judge Wickert reviews all Reopening Requests; it is his decision whether the matter will be scheduled for a Pretrial Conference with the Village Attorney, a Reopening Hearing before him, or a denial of the request.
